Retegui: “Lasciare l’Atalanta è stato difficile. Mi sono sentito a casa”

Mateo Retegui, attaccante della Nazionale, ha parlato a Sportitalia, soffermandosi sul suo addio all’Atalanta. Queste le sue parole: “Lasciare l’Atalanta non è stato facile. Da una parte perché all’Atalanta mi hanno fatto sentire speciale. I miei compagni, lo staff, tutti i lavoratori, i tifosi mi hanno fatto sentire speciale. Quindi mi sarebbe piaciuto poter rimanere all’Atalanta”, ha confidato Retegui. Invece ha scelto di accettare il trasferimento in Arabia: “Poi nel mercato è arrivato l’Al Qadsiah, l’allenatore, il direttore sportivo mi hanno chiamato, mi hanno fatto sentire molto desiderato e questo per un giocatore è molto importante”, ha raccontato il 26enne. “Avevo già tanti amici e compagni che stavano giocando qui e mi hanno raccontato com’era il Paese, com’era il campionato e il progetto che aveva il club. E poi quando sono arrivato, ho visto come era il progetto, tutto organizzato… il calcio arabo è in costante crescita e sono grato di contribuire a questa crescita”. Precisando in chiusura che per dire addio a Bergamo e alla Dea è servito tanto: “Però come dicevo, lasciare l’Atalanta non è stata una cosa facile”.
